Soil Testing

Soil Sample Testing is available through our office the facility that we use is A&L Greatlakes Laboratories. We charge $15.00 per standard soil test per soil. Soil samples are mailed every Friday at Noon, unless we are working out in the field or the office is closed.

The Standard Soil Test tests for the following: Organic Matter, Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Soil pH, Buffer pH, and CEC (Cation Exchange Capacity).

The turn around time for results is typically 3-4 business days depending on the time of year and how busy the laboratory is.

Our office does have soil sample bags - please, pick-up a sample bag before bringing your soil sample to us.

• You will want to make sure that your bag is filled with your sample of soil to the fill line. This will ensure that there is enough soil for the lab to process.
• Before sending your sample to the lab, we need to know what that sample was previously and what it will be. The lab uses this information to be able to provide you detailed soil fertility recommendations, fertilizer recommendations, etc.
• Example: Previous crop soybeans next crop will be corn.
• Garden currently tomatoes next strawberries.
• Food plot will be food plot.

Soil probes for sampling are available for loan.
